Abstract
A recent IOA Acoustics Bulletin carried an article [1] (see reprint page 4) reporting opposing views about proposals for renovating the Royal Festival Hall (RFH). This response to that article reflects on the debate about the renovation from the perspectives of personal association with the hall, experience with its pioneering electronic enhancement system, and research on music listeners’ habits and preferences.
