Constitution & Rules of Conduct
Constitution
The Constitution is our founding document. It sets out the Society’s purpose, structure, membership grades, procedures during General Meetings, and other matters essential to running a professional society. The ASNZ Council rewrote the Constitution in 2025 to align with the NZ Government’s Incorporated Society Act 2022 and to expand our membership grades to include Student and Executive Membership. That version replaced the 2010 Rules (which was the first to offer multiple membership grades) which, in turn, replaced the original 1982 Rules.

Rules of Conduct, Dispute Resolution and Disciplinary Measures
All ASNZ members (Affiliates, Members, Executive Members and Fellows) are required to carry out professional duties according to our Rules of Conduct. These rules require members to maintain a professional demeanour and to perform their duties according to high ethical standards, with due consideration for fellow Society members. The Rules of Conduct, Dispute Resolution and Disciplinary Measures were revised in 2025 alongside the Constitution.
